This is what you need to do to get Food Manager Certified

Choose your Food Manager Course / Exam Bundle or the single Exam or Course.

The Food Manager training course is not mandatory to be certified. It helps prepare you for the exam. However, you must always pass the exam to get your certification card.

After enrollment, we will send a confirmation email with your Food Manager Course / Exam instructions. Stop and restart the course as often as you want. But once the proctored exam is started, it must be finished without stopping.

You may take the Proctored Learn2Serve Exam Online, but only on a laptop or desktop with camera and microphone capability. Phones and tablets are not allowed for the exam.

The Training Course may be taken on any type of device, but the exam must be taken on a laptop or desktop.

You will receive your official “Certified Food Protection Manager” certificate immediately after passing the exam.

The HACCP training, Food Handler training, and Allergens training may be taken on a phone or any device.

Why is Texas Food Manager Certification Different?

Texas Food Managers have a Texas DSHS Exam. Texans may take the Food Manager Course and Texas Exam on any type of device (including phones) with no proctor. However, if you need the proctored ANSI-CFP Certification Exam in Texas, you may take it only on a computer or laptop.

Why do I need to be a Certified Food Protection Manager anyway? Why is it important?

Indiana Food Protection Manager Certification Training is intended to prevent food-borne illness by learning food safety procedures to protect the public, other food workers, and your business.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that each year roughly 1 in 6 Americans (or 48 million people) gets some type of food-borne illness. Of these, 128,000 are hospitalized and 3,000 die from food-borne disease. Many of these illnesses were acquired in food establishments.

Restaurants, bakeries, food trucks, markets, bars, mobile food vendors, and commissaries that prepare or serve unpackaged food must have an owner or an employee who has passed an accepted examination in food safety or show the equivalent knowledge.

Most states mandate that a Person in Charge (PIC) of a food business show knowledge of food safety as written in the FDA Food Code. By taking an approved Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) Training Course and passing an ANSI-Accredited Exam is one way to show that knowledge.

The Learn2Serve Food Protection Manager Exam offered on this website meets or exceeds all National Food Code standards. Local city and county requirements may be in addition to the state's minimum requirements.
